Local breeder in marshes in south-central Oregon in the Klamath,
Summer Lake, Warner Valley, and Harney basins,
and also at Ladd Marsh in Union County.

Lake/Pond Shoreline & Islands (315547 acres)
Edges of Freshwater Marsh (13109 acres)
lesser
Seasonally Wet Playa (45266 acres)
Relative Detectability:
Easy to spot and to confirm nesting, usually by noting
fledglings accompanied by adults.
Challenge:
Determine if species no longer breeds in north central and
northeastern Oregon.
